Lee M. Schmidt, M.D.

Dr. Lee Schmidt helped to create the joint replacement center at GBMC and has been its director since it opened in 2004. He has practiced at GBMC since completing his joint replacement fellowship in 1990. Treating both arthritic knees and hips, he has surgical expertise ranging from arthroscopic surgery to total joint reconstruction. Areas of special interest include partial and total knee replacement, hip replacement surgery, minimally invasive techniques, and metal on metal technology.

Dr. Schmidt lives in Cockeysville with his wife and two teenagers. Despite his busy schedule he can be found watching his children play soccer, field hockey, basketball and lacrosse whenever possible. Hobbies include golf, skiing and travel. He is an avid auto racing enthusiast.
